Hanak Hall, located at 612 Drayton Street, was renovated by the Savannah College of Art and Design into a new administration building. The property was listed as a contributing building within the Downtown Savannah Historic District in 1979.
Originally constructed in 1872 for William H. Baker, the four story brick townhouse follows a typical Savannah side hall plan, with the entry opening to a stair and central hall flanked by stacked living parlors and bedrooms. The building reflects a simplified Italianate style. Its hip roof features an extended eave with decorative brackets, and the windows are detailed with cast iron hoods, stone sills, and louvered wood shutters. The last known occupant of the building was the Georgia Medical Society, which was founded in 1804.
